Previous Awards:

  • This prize has previously been awarded by the Faculty Board of Oriental Studies to undergraduate members of the University who have gained a distinction in Ancient Egyptian in the Moderations in Oriental Studies (Egyptology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies) or was placed in the First Class in Egyptology in the Honour School of Oriental Studies. No special application was required.

Regulation

§ 207. Lenman Memorial Prize Fund

1. The University gratefully accepts a gift of £100 from Mrs E. Lenman in memory of her son Arthur Hamish Lenman.

2. The money shall be invested to form a fund, the income of which shall be applied to the provision of prizes, to be known as Lenman Memorial Prizes, to be awarded by the Committee of Management of the Griffith Institute to members of the University studying Egyptology, under regulations to be made by the committee.
