  • Art in China since the Yuan period, including modern and contemporary art
  • Culture and art of the Ming period
  • Methodology and historiography of art history

Current Projects:

  • The regional courts of the Ming hereditary aristocracy (Zongfan) and their culture
  • Cultural reproduction and the reproduction of calligraphy in China
  • Chinese painting and its audiences since 1600
