Translation of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani’s Book of Wisdom and Lies and Travels in Europe
This will be the first English translation of Orbeliani’s Travels in Europe (1713-1716), of which only the second half survives. We intend to publish this alongside a new translation of Orbeliani’s fables, “The Book of Wisdom and Lies”
Translation of Goderdzi Chokheli’s Melancholy of Human Beings and other short stories
This will be the first English translation, of a 20th century classic. The main story takes place in the northeast of Georgia, on the southern slopes of Caucasus Mountains.
The voice of the author collects harsh and strict mountain traditions and individual worries of the villagers.

L Chokoshvili (Editor) “Unlocking the Door: Writing from Georgia”
The book comprises a number of pieces translated, for the first time from Georgian, by students of Oxford University: short stories, fairy tales, and plays by Aka Morchiladze (including two works that have never appeared in print before), Guram Rcheuishvili, Lasha Tabukashvili, Erlom Akhvlediani, and Goderdzi Chokheli, in a bilingual, facing-page format.
Copies can be purchased from Blackwells or directly from Lia Chokoshvili.
