Educational Background:

MA in Cultural Studies

MA in Islamic Studies and Political Science

BA in Islamic Studies and Political Science

In the recent years, I have been working as a researcher and a social activist at different NGOs and international organizations on topics related to social change, sustainable development, human rights, and international organizations.

Research Interests:

I am interested in socio-political history of the Middle Eastern societies. In my first MA, I worked on Iranian intellectual history during the Iranian Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911). My next research project was about social and political history of the Middle Eastern countries in the 20th century. In 2006, I published the three-volume series “History of Political Thought in the Arab World” (Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, 2006). From 2011 to 2013, the main topic of my researches was legal history of Iran and the sharia law.

At the moment, I am working on the transformation of religious institutions in Iran. The work is a multidisciplinary study that engages with primary and secondary sources on sharia law, Shiite culture, and Iranian socio-political history. In the course of the research, I studied different textual and visual primary sources in Iranian and British archives.
